HERE'S THE MESSAGE HERE'S
THE AUDIENCE
How do you get from here to there?
1)
WE WILL INTERROGATE YOU
We will begin by asking lots of questions - questions on everything
about your product or service - questions about the history of your
business - questions about who you perceive your target audience
to be. We will look at all your printed materials (past ads, promotions,
press releases, mission statements, etc..) If your budget allows
we might suggest using focus groups. Then we'll interrogate someone
else! Your target audience. Then, just when you thought we asked
you everything, we'll call you and ask you something else!
2) WE WILL PONDER
We will look out of our 20th floor windows and "blue sky" it for
quite a while. We might even take our lunch break in Rittenhouse
Park. Slowly the ideas will develop. Then they will come faster.
We will write them all down. We will discard most of them with our
empty lunch bag. But if past experience is any gauge, they'll be
a few good ones. Maybe even an award-winning one.
3) WE'LL DO A DOG AND PONY SHOW
We'll take some Mylanta. Then we'll present the ideas to you. We'll
show you some storyboards. You'll be knocked out! You'll sign a
ten year contract with us! And then we'll wake up and do the real
presentation.
4) WE'LL SWITCH BRAINS Once you give us the green light we'll switch
from right brain to left brain and organize the shoot. We'll be
anal retentive... obsessive compulsive... meticulous and methodical...
thorough and...... well, you get the idea. We'll plan every detail
of the shoot. We'll scout locations. We'll hire the talent. We'll
bring cool looking equipment. We'll spend a lot of time lighting
and framing each shot. And finally we'll capture some unforgettable
images.
