At
the forefront of many of the company's productions is SoundByte's
President and founder, Frank Cerami. Frank began his career in Philadelphia
radio as a programmer, on-air talent, and copywriter working for
such well-known stations as Q102, Power 99, and Star 104.5. Frank
also served as music director for several stations and has been
awarded gold and platinum records for his role in discovering and
breaking new talent.
During the early 90s Frank began writing and producing radio spots
in his home studio for a variety of clients. Business took off and
in 1995 Frank built a state-of-the-art facility in the heart of
Philadelphia's advertising district. SoundByte is located just one
block off the Avenue of the Arts at 15th and Locust Streets in Center
City, Philadelphia.
Success continued with Frank and his company winning numerous creative
awards for radio production, including a "Best of Radio" Addy award
in 1999. The same spot also garnered a "Citation of Excellence"
award in the regional Addys competing in New York City.
During this time SoundByte expanded to include video services for
its clients, opening a video suite complete with an Avid Media Composer
9000. SoundByte began producing film and video work for several
clients and posting at its own facility. In 2001 SoundByte received
another "Citation of Excellence" at the local Addy Awards Show for
its work on "The Yuengling Story," a corporate image video for Yuengling
Beer.
Frank's role throughout all of this success has been as producer
and director. "Understanding what the client or agency is trying
to communicate to a specific audience and then putting the right
people together with the right tools to achieve that goal within
a budget -- that is our strength," Frank explains.
"I look for the clients to inundate me with information and literature
and we have a lot of discussions before we even put pen to paper,"
says Frank.
"We need to understand what the client knows about their product
or serviceand how it is positioned in the marketplace. Then we make
specific recommendations on how to communicate that message."
